As I am a bit lazy I'll start with my blog post from yesterday, the day after the show.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake
Can I replay the last two days? Friday started with a final posing session followed by my first coat of tanning product being airbrushed on. I had a little time to relax at home before returning for a second coat. It was silly looking, so friggin dark. Yet with my face still white because that was for the make-up artist to do. Sharon and I had a good laugh when we went out grocery shopping and folks kept staring at me. Too bad, I needed my steak and asparagus!
I woke up at 6 on Saturday, ate steak & asparagus for breakfast and took a sip of water. Then at 8 I headed to the Scottish Mason Rite Center to make sure I was in time. The briefing was at 09:00 AM and then the check-in started. They started with the shorties so I had a while to wait and I also had to get my NPC card and height measured. When everything was finally said and done it was already 11:30. After seeing Pete to have him check on me and adjust my nutrition and water intake I drove to the hotel where Roxanna and John, the Jan Tana tanning pro’s where staying for some final touch ups on my tan.

Me and Pete Ciccone, Pro Body Builder, owner of 619 Muscle and the man that says the magic word: "coffee"
Once back at the venue it was time for Vanessa, my make-up artists, to do her magic. Once she was done I had just enough time to get my suit glued in place with bikini bite to prevent the wedgies and a few pumps to get the blood flowing because my group was being called … it was SHOW TIME!!
I signed up for the Masters 35+ Tall class and the open D class (5.6 and taller) The master class was first. I remember walking out on stage for the first time and kinda got the deer in the headlight feeling. I was nervous and my upper lip was twitching from a nervous smile. We lined up, did our quarter turns, where ushered to the side of the stage and started our model poses. The posing went quite well. I tried to remember everything but had to rely on the practice and repetition of a few months. The second time out I felt a lot more relaxed, I knew what to expect and really had some fun with it. I spotted Sharon and Kara, who had come out to cheer me on and support me, in the audience, which gave me a focus and people to smile at.

Backstage, just got "glazed & glued" and ready to head out for the two piece round.
The two piece round went the same and finally it was 05:30 and the pre-judging was over. During one of the last preparations I had broken off a thumbnail which I managed to keep glued on with scotch tape, but this was a good opportunity to run across the road to the mall and have it repaired. Besides, I got the green light to drink some fluids, any fluids including coffee .. and about 16 oz. it too! Starbucks here I come!!
While still running around in my two piece suit a lady stopped me and asked if she could take a picture of me with her daughter. The little girl was about 14 years old. They both said they really loved the way I looked on stage, my presence, hair color and cut and everything. That was the best compliment ever. I chatted for a little while and thanked them for their kind words and went on my way.
The evening show had two more stage rounds for me with the last one ending around 10:00 PM. I changed quickly into some jeans and shirt and we where off to the Cheesecake Factory. I ate quesadilla’s and got myself a chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake piece to go for Sunday. I finally got home and tumbled into a well deserved sleep at 01:00 AM
And guess what I just ate?? Hahaha … I was delicious! I still don’t know how I placed. I know from the call out’s that it is somewhere near the bottom, but heck, I had a great day, got to experience my first competition and had a lot of fun doing it! I am checking the websites regularly to see if I can find the scores and pictures. Once they are up there I will keep you guys updated.
But last and not least, this blog will be a shout-out to all those folks that got me to where I am today.
* First and foremost a big and special thanks to Meriza Deguzman! I couldn’t have come this far without you! Not only is Meriza my trainer and coach, she really took me under her wings and made the process so easy that all I needed to do was commit, work hard and stay consistant. Luv ya girl!

Meriza and me.
* Al & Vaninia: For taking me a step closer to accomplish my dreams and have the knowledge, heart and gut to realize when its time to let go.
* Sharon & Kara: Especially Sharon for putting up with me every day and staying out of the kitchen on Sunday’s but both of you for your support and coming out to cheer me on for my first show!
* Bryon David: For a set of the most gorgeous, fitting, sparkling and eye-catching figure posing suits I could have ever wished for! Those suits gave me the confidence to walk out there and shine!
* Roxanna, John & Vanessa: You guys make me look gorgeous on stage!
* My boss Brad: Who has been supportive and nice enough to allow me to postpone any International travel till after this show.
And I am sure I forgot a few more folks. For now though I am going to head to the shower and try to even out my skintone to make it match a bit better with my face.
Even today I still don't know how I placed. I know that my conditioning was right and I got positive feedback on my stage presence. The thing that got me in the bottom of the pack was the lack of muscularity. Hey ... I am fine with that, at least there is room for improvement! :)
Here is the link to the Muscular Development pictures of me. I really don't like any of them! LOLhttp://www.musculardevelopment.com/browse/index.php?mode=browse&id=14856&eventcode=1225
