So i was pigging out on a mountain of spinach covered with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and for the first time looked at the label which stated "Warning, this product contains lead"

I was wondering if lead is in your balsamic vinegar or only in mine. I never really paid attention to it, but couldn't find anything on the internet other than this:

I never noticed it, that's scary. Mine doesn't say it but Cali may have stricter labeling laws.

California has Proposition 65, which mandates that the consumer be informed of EXACTLY whats in the food. But some argue that the wording of california prop 65 labeling can be misleading.

according to that article, it seems to be in the grapes used to make the vinegar. Probably in trace amounts that are in more foods than u think. It seems the food manufacturers have to prove whats not in the food vs whats in it

considering that a lot of us have lead in our teeth from fillings i dont think a couple of teaspoons will do much harm

small amounts are easily dealt with by the body. Larger doses are really difficult to dispose of by the liver and kidneys.
